Day 11 of travels - July 6, 2008, 5:48 am

It’s been an eventful couple of days.  We left Stratford yesterday to Dover when we went to fill up our cars.  I was almost done filling my tank when I noticed I filled it with Diesel.  I asked the guy at the counter and he said it needed to be pumped and he wouldn’t even start it.  In my defense the unleaded handle was green and in the states the diesel is always green.

We called the tow truck company and they said a tow truck would be on its way.  We waited about an hour for the tow truck, but the question was what to do with it then.  Because of the car’s warranty it had to be taken to a Nissan dealer, but all the ones near us were closed.  The soonest the car could be worked on was on Monday.  So we towed the car to the dealer, piled all the suitcases in one car, and Chris, Kayla, and I took the train to Dover.  It’s turning into an expensive mistake.

So yesterday was lost.  Today people just didn’t want to go anywhere (especially the planned two hour drive to Brighton) so we are just hanging around the house.  I was planning on meeting up with Steph (from the Venezuelan DTS) there but with only one car it just doesn’t work.  I did get to see her for a couple of hours earlier in the week so it could have been worse.  You never know, there’s still another week here.

I’ve got more photos on flickr and actually something else for you guys.

Day 9 of travels - July 4, 2008, 11:16 am

Hey everybody!  We’re in Stratford right now in a bed and breakfast.  It’s our second and last day before we head out to the Cliffs of Dover where we’ll stay a weekish.

I’ve got more photos on my flickr page so head there for more photos.  We visited Stonehenge on our way here.  We went to Warwick Castle today but I don’t have any photos up yet.  It’s a little slower paced then London and that’s good.

Oh and we had troubles with the car rental so we ended up getting two smaller ones.  Mom didn’t have her driver’s license so I ended up renting one.  That means I’m driving one.  It took a little while to get used to the left side of the street, but I’m used to it now.

That’s about it, keep checking for more pictures and updates.

Day 7 of travels - July 2, 2008, 2:52 am

It’s Wednesday and the first time I’ve been able to sit down and check the messages and there’s a lot of them.  I’ve got two and a half pages of two photos on my flickr page for your enjoyment.  If it looks like we’re having fun it’s because we are.

As far as specifics we’ve just been bumming around London for the past few days visiting different attractions.  Traveling was pretty hard considering how long it took but we made it through.  We’re getting the car today so traveling should be easier.  We’ve been taking the underground, but we all got used to that pretty quick.

I don’t have much time, but I’ll keep you posted.
